We're Off....
To a wonderful start of a fabulous year!Parents you have done an awesome job this week getting your student to school on time each and every day. I'm a parent myself, and I remember the difficulties during the transition from summer to school. It's not easy, I know, but we have had perfect attendance, with everyone arriving on time, so thank you so much!!!!
All the children are settling nicely into the routines; everyone has put forth a fabulous effort, and if feels really good so far. We've shared a lot about ourselves helping to form a strong community of learners. The level of cooperation has been wonderful, and now we're ready to dive right in when we return from the long weekend.
Schedule of Specials:
P.E. - Tuesdays & Fridays (Kiddos need to bring/wear sneakers on those days)
Art & Music is on Mondays
Library and Spanish is on Thursdays
Odds & Ends:
PAPERWORK - Please, if you haven't already done so, turn in all those assorted applications, permissions, health information forms, and snack forms. I realize it is a lot, but it is all essential to assure everyone gets what they need this year.A note about permissions, especially pictures; I like to post pictures of our students on our web site, it help provide a glimpse into their daily life at school, and special events like field trips. Parents in the past have enjoyed seeing their students throughout the year engaged in a variety of activities on our first grade site. Often times these are group shots, as students are usually grouped together engaged in activities. As you can imagine, this is sometimes problematic if a few students aren't allowed to be photographed. Please know that I never attach names of the students with the pictures, this isn't necessary, for you know your children. It is only natural to be a bit apprehensive, so if you would like to call me and discuss this, I'd be happy to, especially if I can alleviate your concerns.
